Who we are
Garden Surveyor (“we”, “us”) provides UK landscaping calculators, guides and quoting tools. The service is currently run by an individual and is not yet registered as a company or sole trader; formal business and registration details will be published here once the service is formally registered. You can reach us through our contact form.
What we collect
If you create an account we store your email address and the projects, quotes and settings you save. Calculator inputs you use without an account are kept in your browser only. We also collect basic, anonymised usage analytics to improve the tool.
How we use it
We use your data to operate your account, save your work, respond to enquiries and keep the service secure and reliable. We do not sell your personal data.
Cookies & affiliate links
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember preferences. Outbound product links are affiliate links (including the Amazon Associates Programme) which may set cookies on the destination site and earn us a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
Legal basis (UK GDPR)
We process account data to perform our contract with you (providing the service), analytics on the basis of your consent, and security/anti-abuse data on the basis of our legitimate interests. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time via the Cookie Policy.
Data retention
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain it to meet legal obligations.
Cookies
For full details of the cookies we use and how to manage them, see our Cookie Policy.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with trusted service providers (“sub-processors”) who help us run the service, including: cloud hosting and database providers, analytics providers, and email/transactional messaging providers. Each acts on our instructions under a data processing agreement.
International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses to keep your data protected.
Children’s data
This service is intended for landscaping and trade professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal data, and to object to processing. Make a request via our contact form and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
